Top University from China called – Fudan University has launched a Blockchain Research Center in Shanghai.

Quite recently, it observed that blockchain is gaining a lot of attention in the educational sector. Among many such institutions, Fudan University in China has launched a Blockchain research cente.

As per announcement, the Shangai Blockchain Engineering Technology Research Center has been established by Fudan University with pursuit to explore the blockchain tech.

The main agenda of this institution is to serve as a platform for blockchain research and come up with possible use cases or applications where it can applied. Also, the institution will be guiding the interested candidates to know more on tech and train them for required applications.

Impact on Shangai Economy

With the establishment of Shanghai Blockchain Engineering, the awareness of blockchain tech will increase among citizens. Hence also promote the development and growth of the blockchain industry in Shanghai. This, in turn, will lead to the development of the Shanghai economy.

This is not a first instance where blockchain has been incorporated in the educational curriculum. Other Chinese universities have also integrated blockchain into their scholarship programs.

A program has been launched to find the best talent in China with an intention to study global blockchain regulations and industry development.

Reportedly, in January 2019, the Institute for Fintech Research at Beijing’s Tsinghua University (THUIFR) announced the Blockchain Technology Research Scholarship Program (BRSP)  in collaboration with blockchain payments firm Ripple.

Apart from above ventures, the Fudan University has patented an application where users can trade their unused power. Indeed its an blockchain based electricity exchange that assigns power to sellers and buyers nodes on the network. Also it allows them to securely trade electricity without the intervention of a third party or intermediary.
