The Indian state of Telangana plans to use blockchain technology in a big way. Recently, it signed a pact with various blockchain firms. The aim is to digitize the governance. Moreover, it is planning to digitize the government applications with the help of blockchain technology.
Some of the government officials recently stated that with the help of blockchain technology, it will be easier for the government to bring in more transparency. Moreover, the government machinery will become more efficient as well. This ensures that it will become easier for the people to get their work done.
In addition to that, Telangana is integrating the capital Hyderabad with the administration. That is why, in order to make sure that the integration goes smoothly, it is using the blockchain technology. It remains to be seen which are the exact applications in which the blockchain technology is used. Up until now, it seems like it will be used for keeping the records as well as digitizing the complaints system. However, the administration has not clearly spelled out how it will be using the blockchain technology.
In addition to that, one thing which is for sure is that it is not the only state which will be using the blockchain technology for proper governance. There are quite a few other states as well which will be using the blockchain technology for proper governance. This is one of the main reasons why it is important for the blockchain firms to provide a proper solution.
Increasing usage of blockchain technology:
Even though many of the authorities are against the use of cryptocurrencies but when it comes to blockchain technology, they are of the opinion that blockchain technology is of great use. That is why many of the states as well as authorities are using blockchain on a consistent basis as well.
It remains to be seen whether blockchain is able to bring any kind of efficiency to the State of Telangana not. Up until now, it seems like it will surely bring at least some kind of efficiency to the bureaucracy. Moreover, as the government machinery becomes more and more efficient, the citizens will be able to easily get their work done as well.
It also remains to be seen when these plans will actually be executed. Only when they are put in place and executed, there will be some kind of benefits. This is one of the main reasons why the plans still do not excite the citizens themselves.
