Despite the frequent changes in Bitcoin value famed tech giant Microsoft has decided to enter the world of cryptocurrency. In a recent report, the multimillionaire company has shown interest in accepting Bitcoin cash as means of payments for the apps, video games (Xbox) and other items available in Windows store.
As of now, this feature is available only in the United States where users can credit their account with Bitcoin Cash and with the almost instant deposit of fund allowing them to access a huge list of apps from the store.
During the month of January, the company was about to stop accepting the payment in Bitcoin due to high rates, but BitPay urged them to continue doing so, offering them, perhaps, the BCH alternative (different from Bitcoin).
“Now you can use Bitcoin Cash to add credit IMMEDIATELY to your Microsoft account! Select “redeem Bitcoin”, choose “Bitcoin Cash” and use Copay’s wallet on your phone to scan the QR code on your laptop to send the payment. I just did it; the payment was received INSTANTLY and, immediately, the $ 10 credit was added to my Microsoft account “– statement published by one of the casher
It was only in 2014 such transactions would have been feasible, when BitPay established that almost 5,000 businesses accepted cryptocurrencies directly, without having to convert them into dollars.
