Jaguar Land Rover a subsidiary of Tata Motors, an Indian Automotive manufacturer is providing its customers to earn crypto while they are driving.

According to FinancialExpress, The Jaguar owners will be able to earn IOTA cryptocurrency while driving. This IOTA is given as a reward for sharing the traffic data.

How does this reward program work?

The Jaguar rider must agree to share their data and thus the company will reward them for it. Data such as traffic congestion, potholes, and other navigation details.

Jaguar Land Rover will install a smart wallet in the vehicle through this the owners will be able to earn IOTA tokens. And if the owner wants to earn more they can participate in the ride-sharing program.

These IOTA tokens can be used by the owner to pay for parking, tolls and for charging electric vehicles.

The Automotive company says the aim behind this rewards program is

“To achieve zero emissions, zero accidents, and zero congestion,”

Jaguar Land Rover is not the only company implementing blockchain applications in the automotive industry. But Also, last time we had seen R3 and Audi are planning to commercialize data from car sensors using blockchain based prototype.

Currently, Jaguar is testing this blockchain technology on its new models in Shannon, Ireland. And they have implemented the smart wallet technology in some of its vehicles like Jaguar F-Pace and Range Rover Vellar.

There is no official announcement about the commercial release of this technology to the public.
