Apparently few states in India do believe in the potential of Blockchain tech and have decided to promote the same. The so called ‘Innovation Society ‘ of Andhra Pradesh state or APIS(Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society) has emerged with an aim to build blockchain ecosystem and foster the development of the community.

The development is backed by the well-known IT firm Tech-Mahindra and has a dedicated wing called ‘Eleven01’ for the same. This partnership with the APIS will promote blockchain through various means such as conducting events, mentorship programs and many more.

Also in the past we have seen a lot of support from Andhra Pradesh (AP) government towards blockchain. The  government officials such as J A Chowdary, IT Advisor and Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, AP government have immense hope on this tech and further quoted that

We truly appreciate what the Eleven01 team is trying to do and we are happy to associate with them to bring advanced development and innovations with regard to the blockchain realm in the state.

The state government which is capable of building an entire city with blockchain tech believes that this movement will turn to be a role model for the nearby states or  build a strong regulation at the national level. Needless to mention the other states have so far restricted the blockchain only to “study,” regulate or prosecute it, without any actual beneficial integration taking place at the administrative level.

However, with Eleven01 the state has plans to use this tech for various administrative purposes such as voting, accountability tools like civil service complaints and anonymizing them to protect whistleblowers, and benefits distribution

In this regard, Ramachandran the chief product officer of Eleven01 mentioned that

The association with the government of Andhra Pradesh is quite invaluable to our team. We visualise India to be a blockchain-hub and the support from the state here brings us a step closer to achieving that. Together, we will contribute towards the development of the best blockchain-ready talent pool and innovations in the state.

We certainly hope that, this will motivate Indian government to embrace the blockchain at national level and not restricted to particular state. What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
