One of the worlds major gaming company Atari has ventured into a license agreement with Animoca Brands. This Agreement will allow Animoca Brands to develop and publish Atari games in blockchain version.
According to the press release, Atari and Animoca Brands have entered into a memorandum of understanding(MOU) to develop their games using blockchain.
The Atari two games to be published in blockchain versions are:
“RollerCoaster Tycoon” which has nearly reached 19 million downloads worldwide and has been successful after its water
Another game is “Goon Squad” a game based on underworld and criminal empire. This is also one of the most popular games released by Atari.
Animoca brands are going to launch the blockchain version of these two games integrated non-fungible tokens (NFT). These games are going to hit the market by the end of 2019.
Atari CEO Frédéric Chesnais said, Their team hopes that this agreement will also bring success to other Atari products.
Chesnais also mentioned,
We are proud and delighted to enter into this long-term and strategic relationship with Animoca Brands, which also allows us to become a shareholder in one of the most exciting innovators in the world of decentralized gaming.
As per the license agreement, Atari will be paid a guarantee against future revenues of US$250,000 by Animoca brands. And if the gross revenues generated by the Games cross US$500,000 then they will also gain revenue share.
