The popular cryptocurrency payment company Ripple is partnering with an iconic Pop star from 80’s, Madonna to raise funds for orphan kids in an African country Malawi.

The orphanage was co-founded by Madonna and an American screenwriter Michael Berg in 2006. On her 60th birthday, the pop star has planned to raise the online funds for her charity Malawi foundation.

As per reports, she has teamed up with Facebook and Ripple for fundraising. The drive has begun on  31st July and will continue till 31st August of this year. Interestingly this drive was able to collect $27,000 from 575 people in just two days and aims to collect $60,000 by end of the month.

On the Facebook page, Madonna stated that,

“I have an unwavering commitment to providing vulnerable children with a loving home. For my birthday, I can think of no better gift than connecting my global family with this beautiful country and the children who need our help most. Every dollar raised will go directly to meals, schools, uniforms and healthcare.”

Furthermore,  she added that Ripple is the right choice  and will match each dollar donated to this campaign

“I want to come together with my friends, fans and supporters to change the lives of Malawian children and let them know they are nurtured, protected and loved. Through their generous commitment to this organization, Ripple will match each dollar donated to this campaign.”

Malawi is one of the poorest African countries, with about 50 percent of the nations’ population living below the poverty line. Through this fundraising, Madonna is willing to help those children who need our help the most.

On this note, if anyone is willing to donate can do so by directly visiting Madonna’s fundraiser page and/or start their own Facebook fundraisers to tap into their personal social networks for support.
