Gartner Survey indicates lower interest in Global Blockchain adoption

As per reports published by Gartner 2018 CIO Survey, the overall percentage of Global Blockchain adoption is still very low.As of now major players in decentralized technology are financial services and insurance companies throughout the world.

Among the other insights shared by Gartner, industries like transportation, government sector area are gaining traction in blockchain space. This is mainly due to demand in process efficiency, supply chain management, and other logistics problem-solving abilities.

The highlighting point of the survey is that only 1% of the organization involved in the survey shows interest in adopting blockchain technology whereas 8% of them are still in planning and  experimental stage.

The statement published by  Vice President of Gartner David Furlonger says that,

“It is critical to understand what blockchain is and what it is capable of today, compared to how it will transform companies, industries, and society tomorrow”

Furthermore, Gartner added that 77 percent of the CIOs it surveyed had indicated that their organization had no interest in the technology and/or no action planned to investigate or develop it.

The biggest challenge in adopting Blockchain technology for the most organization is finding the right resource and with the right skill set, it demands.

As per Furlonger

“Rushing into blockchain deployments could lead organizations to significant problems of failed innovation, wasted investment, rash decisions and even rejection of a game-changing technology”
