Boeing is Exploring Blockchain to Track Unmanned Vehicle
Popular aerospace company Boeing is reportedly working on blockchain technology to trace UAV(Unmanned Air Vehicles) used for cargo and urban air travel.
As per the official announcement, the company is planning to launch a decentralized system in association with an AI firm SparkCognition. Through this the company is solving the problem of ‘tracking unmanned air vehicles in flight and allocate traffic corridors and routes to ensure safe, secure transportation’.
Also, this technology will be used in designing next-gen commercial based air vehicles and urban air travel. Indeed, the latter section will be mainly based on Uber ‘s air taxi concept.
Boeing chief technology person, Grey Hyslop quoted that,
“We’re at a point in history where technological advances and societal trends are converging to demand bold solutions and a different way to travel”
The Boeing is prepping with its new child company, ‘Boeing Next’ which will make use of companies R&D dept. The intention behind this venture is to work on the advanced autonomous flight, next-gen travel.
Boeing NeXt is also including the company’s hypersonic passenger flight concept under its portfolio alongside its electrical vehicle takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles for on-demand cargo transport and urban air travel in the future
Furthermore, SparkCognition founder and chief Amir Husain said in a statement that,
“Estimated by some analysts at $3 trillion, the urban aerial mobility opportunity will lead to the creation of the largest new market in our lifetimes.”
