Samsung Files Trademark for Crypto Wallet in the UK

Samsung has filed a trademark for “Samsung Crypto Wallet” on Dec 27 at the U.K. Intellectual Property Office.

Samsung one of the largest smartphones manufacturer is now entering into the cryptocurrency industry. This may be due to the growth in users of crypto wallets on smartphones. Thus the company has trademarked “Samsung Crypto Wallet” at the U.K Intellectual Property Office.

According to the Trademark filed they are developing a computer software for use as a crypto wallet.

In the “Classes and terms” section is also mentioned on the trademarks website,

“Software to allow users to transfer cryptocurrency based on blockchain technology and pay via 3rd party’s application software.”

By observing the trademark details, we feel Samsung may have plans to launch a crypto wallet on Galaxy smartphones in the future. This might be due to the rapid development taking place in the cryptocurrency industry.

Also, Samsung is currently leveraging blockchain technology for Global supply chain. Blockchain will help them to reduce costs by 20%.

Due to this popularity of crypto wallets, the company might have planned to launch a Crypto Wallet. thus they have trademarked the “Samsung Crypto Wallet” in the UK.
